Musical Auditions to be held at The Lantern
The Lantern Theatre and Conway Community Arts Association (CCAA) will hold auditions for its upcoming
production of Hot ‘n’ Cole, a Cole Porter Celebration on Monday and Tuesday, October 10 and 11 at 6:00 pm at
The Lantern Theatre, 1021 Van Ronkle in Conway.
Hot ‘n’ Cole is a musical revue of all Cole Porter songs. The revue includes many of his hit melodies, including
“Anything Goes,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “In the Still of the Night,” and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin.”
Over fifty of his songs are woven into contemporary arrangements that are, in turn, wry, irreverent, romantic, and
touching.
The play calls for three women and three men, age 18-60, all of whom must be able to sing solo and in harmony
with the rest of the cast. The audition will consist of singing, choreography, and cold readings from the play. Au-
ditionees will learn a short section of music to be sung for the audition along with a series of dance movements.
Those interested in auditioning are asked to attend both nights of auditions and dress appropriately for easy move-
ment. If desired, the music for the audition can be obtained online at the CCAA website at www.conwayarts.org.
However, plenty of time will be given the night of auditions for people to learn the music.
The play is under the direction of veteran actress and director, Liz Parker. The play will be presented December
2, 3, 8-11, and 15-18, 2011 at the Lantern Theatre.
Further information about the play or auditions can be obtained by calling Ms. Parker at 501-450-6247. Informa-
tion is also available on the Community Arts website at www.conwayarts.org.
